What's Good y'all?!! I know i aint blogged in a minutttttte. Apologies, but Imma post a lot more on here. Let y'all in my mind and let y'all know whats goin on in LGI CAMP.

Just finished up tour with Breathe Carolina, Hyper Crush, Queens Club, and The Spin Cycle. By far the illest tour I've ever been on. All the bands were dope and we all just clicked. Its a good ass feelin when u meet ppl you can just vibe wit.

We spiced up our set wit a new song called "Glow in the Dark" :)

haha fer surrrre, NEW MUSIC!! I know y'all been waitin so patiently, and we greatly appreciate it. We are hard at work on our full length and can not wait to show y'all what we've been up to. This album will be the greatest accomplishment of my life to date, so i really wanna take the time and make it great. NOTHING LESS THAN GREAT.

Freal tho i just wanna say Thank you so much to each and everyone of u who came out to the tour, bought the ep, or support me in any way. The support means the world to me. I wont let y'all down.

Ohhhh before i bounce, if u get a chance, make sure u grab the newest issue of Alternative Press magazine. Let's Get It is featured as one of the 100 bands you have to know about for 2010. :) All the support gets my engine goin, and the hate just fuels the fire.

Within only a few short months, Dayton, Ohio, genre-busters LET'S GET IT have gone from a featured unsigned band in our AP&R section to a member of the Fearless Records family. Blending everything from hip-hop to cinematic soundscapes, the band showcase their pop prowess on their new EP, Digital Spaces, which dropped earlier this week. Frontman JOE GILFORD found a minute to speak with our own LAILA HANSON about what it's like to be signed and how exactly Jack Skellington influenced their sound.

AP: You incorporate a lot of different sorts of genres of music on Digital Spaces, from R&B to the sort of music you'd hear in a Tim Burton movie. Was that your intention from the start?

Me: Yes, it was totally intentional. In fact, the references you made were right on the money. As for the whole Tim Burton feel--he person who does his scores is a guy named Danny Elfman, and at the time we were writing that particular song, he was a huge influence. I think we downloaded the soundtrack to The Nightmare Before Christmas. We listen to all types of music; our influences are anywhere from New Edition and Boyz II Men to Underoath and stuff like that. The fact that people can pick up on those influences is awesome for us, because it means that we did something right, for sure.

AP: What led you to that kind of music in the first place?

Me: Nothing that we do is really contrived or anything; it's all really organic and really natural. That just seemed to be stuff that we grew up on. You have some of us who like the Killers and stuff of that nature, and then some of us listen to a lot heavier stuff. It's all really natural stuff and it's engrained into our musical DNA.

AP: What's the story behind the name Digital Spaces and the song titles?

Me: We like to think that the sound that we create is somewhat forward thinking. I like to think that we're doing something up with the times. The whole concept of Digital Spaces is along that whole realm, and the way we live our lives nowadays, with the popularity of social networking sites and things of that nature. It's a common theme that we connect with society through music; whether it's through computers or iPhones or what have you, and we wanted to reach all that relation there with Digital Spaces. Plus, I think the words paint a cool picture as well.

AP: How did you end up with Joey Sturgis as producer considering that he works with a lot of heavier bands?

Me: Joey has been a long time friend of the band, and he's worked with really awesome bands. He worked with the Devil Wears Prada on all their releases, which are all amazing. He has a lot of versatility. A lot of people he's worked with in the past have a heavier side to them, but he's just a really good producer, and you want to have someone like that in any genre. And we felt like we were going to help each other out: We can show his versatility through a more pop sound with us. He's an awesome dude and an amazing producer.

AP: Were you excited to team up with Fearless Records?

Me: Gosh, we could go on for days. When we met with the owner Bob Becker, I told him that in seventh grade, I was on the Fearless Records street team. It seems like every one of my favorite bands were on that label along the way: Sugarcult, At The Drive-In, Aquabats. It goes on and on. And nowadays, we listen to the Maine and Mayday Parade. I think it goes full circle and it's definitely an honor to be associated with people that we've always held in high regard. We wake up and we get to say that, and it puts a smile on our faces for sure.

AP: One of the songs on the EP is called "Ciroc and Roll." That's a vodka, isn't it?

Me: It is a vodka. We follow Diddy on Twitter, and he promotes that to no end. So if you ever choose a drink to have at your next party, he's been pushing that vodka and pink lemonade. I'm looking forward to that. We just have fun with song titles. We have some that we really want to try on a serious scale in the future. But on this [EP], we wanted to have fun, so we're keeping our titles fun. But we have to keep it relevant. We can draw a connection, even if it's really faint, and even if some people think it's a stretch.

AP: The crowd chanting on that track are an effect, right?

Me: Nah, it's definitely an effect. If you listen to the EP from start to finish, there's a bit of a story to it. Obviously, you have the songs themselves, but we have our own little back-story to it. And it really picks up in that song as far as the audience goes. It's not literally live, that's just part of the story we have built into the EP that we think brings it more to life. We want to let people take what they want from it. alt

Everyone knows I'm a big fan of Kanye West. He is an amazing artist and a legend in his own time.

that being said.......

WTF!?! Just as i believe in Kanye's artistic vision, I believe in positivity and respect.

What he did during Tayolr Swift's acceptance speech was incredibly rude. As a role model to many, as well as the poster child for a movement he failed to positively represent himself, his fans, and the culture he represents.

Hopefully we can all move on and take something away this awkward embarrassing moment in our pop culure history.

whats up ya'll. just checkin in from tour. i feel this sudden urge to share things, although...im not sure i have much to share.haha. This tour is by far the dopest thing any of us in Let's Get It have ever been a part of. All the bands kill it every night and all of u who come out, r makin these the best shows ive ever been to. i cant say enough positive things about this experience, J Star has been extremely hospitable, makin us feel right at home. so far ive partied with a former member of one of the biggestt pop acts in muic history, ive hung out on bourbon street, seen countless celebrities and got to hang out with 6 of my best friends in the world. life is good. God is good.

If you havent yet, go preorder Digital Spaces. Ive never been more proud of anything than that ep. Tell ur friends about it.

I had the chance to kick it at Cleveland Warped the other day. AMAZING!!

This is the view from mainstage right before The Devil Wears Prada set. Has to be at least 7,000 crazy ppl, completely freaking out. So dope. So proud of those doods. Ohio's comin up.

Warped was super ill. kicked it at the fearless tent for a bit, and met a ton of dope bands and ppl. if you get a chance you should definitely go check it out.

btw....caught part of the millionaires set. saw one of the girls get hit with a bottle. let me just say, even if some music isnt ur cup of tea, in no way does that give you the right to disrespect ANYONE. that shit is rude. and Hatin ass Lames need to check themselves and get their values straight. Do what you love, worry about you. Quit hatin on ppl for being more successful than you. Them girls obviously did somethin right.

Kanye West x Takashi Murakami Gold Bear Sculpture

Having seen some of the most popular artists, heavily involved in the streetwear scene, exhibit at the Emmanuel Perrotin, makes you wonder what the famed collector might have in-store. Aside from the current showcase, at the gallery’s Paris location, is a collaboration sculpture, created between Kanye West and legendary super-flat artist Takashi Murakami. The piece follows the re-occuring Kanye bear theme, created in a gold sculpture. Stay tuned for further information regarding the sculpture.

Vans hooks it up with a closer look into the upcoming collabo with Crooks & Castles. The kicks are part of the East vs. West Pack that will also feature the likes of Acapulco Gold. Each pack will feature a matching tee with the newly designed Moda Hi sneaker, a fusion of the SK8-Hi and Mountain Edition Hi. The new design still retains a retro flair with more progressive technical features. The luxurious looking kicks, sporting Epi Leather uppers, are set for a March 2010 release. Stay tuned for a closer look into the other models.
